Two extra things of importance to add here. I will quote from the MacArthur Bible Handbook:
"An appropriate response to Jesus' death for us is to offer our lives as living sacrifices to God (Rom. 12:1)"
"The NT makes it clear that from Pentecost forward (Acts 2), the church is under the authority of the New Covenant, not the Old (Heb7-10)"
